“Behold,
these are but the outskirts of his ways, and how small a whisper do we hear of
him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?”
God is bigger than you think He is.
Job recorded some pretty astounding miracles before writing this verse
... and yet states that this is just a hint of what God can do.
We limit God with our capacity to understand. Like Peter walking on
water and being startled by a wave, we forget whom we serve. We allow temporary problems to disrupt peace
that is based on eternal promises and power.
Since the God of peace is your protector. Whom shall you fear? If God is for you who can be against you?... The
truth is, it is laughable for any person or problem to oppose you
considering who stands guard over you.
The reason I know God is bigger than we think He is… is because He is
bigger than we are capable of thinking He is…
We don’t have the aptitude to comprehend that kind of supremacy. We are
astounded when we get a glimpse, but we’re only seeing a shadow.
The creation of the universe, the parting of the Red Sea, raising Lazarus
from the dead …all that was a whisper…the outskirts of an inconceivable force.
And when that same power loves and protects you…whom shall you fear?
The day will come when every knee will bow…. Scripture says the Lord
will return with a Shout… But until then, rest in His whisper…the immense power
of that still small voice provides assurance that is permanent.
Rest in that peace. Run in that freedom, and no matter how blown away
you are by God’s response to your faith, no matter how amazed you are by His
power…just know that you don’t even know.
“God is looking for those
with whom He can do the impossible - what a pity that we plan only the things
that we can do by ourselves.”
